Rev. Nathan Stone, 83 (passed 1956); grandfather of my Dad, James Lenious Stone, Jr.

Stone Families of Alabama, Kentucky, Ohio and beyond

As we look into our family trees, we've discovered a bit of a forest of trees and bushes that take us all over Alabama, Mississippi, and Kentucky. Ironically, my brother and I moved from Alabama to Kentucky when we were quite young (following in the tracks of the father of our Dad's father). This month, I saw and heard his name for the first time ever (or first I remember hearing it and learning anything specific about him). Even got to read his obit in the paper. He was a pastor who had gotten around in the south. My Dad's name (James Lenious Stone Jr.) was listed as a surviving grandchild. My Dad's Dad had already passed when he was 12, a few years earlier. He'd grown up in Mobile, Alabama. His mother passed when he was 16 -- again, soon before Rev. Nathan Stone died at 83.

As our kids enter their early and late teens, we're compiling some of this here. My son (Kevin Anthony Stone) and ex wife (Leslie Bogner Stone) and I (Thomas Edward Stone) live in Columbus, Ohio; my brother (Michael William Stone) and his family (wife and 3 kids -- I'll add the names later if he says it's cool) live in Louisville, Kentucky, area (Prospect). If you have anything to share with us more about the people who show up on here, please share it at tom.tree@4tom.net .

Thanks!
